This asset is the FREE version of Imagine WebAR – World Tracker
Create immersive WebAR experiences using SLAM-inspired ground tracking and geolocation features. Anchor virtual objects in real-world environments with Unity WebGL.
Free Version Limitation
1. The tracker is locked by default. Each time you launch the WebGL build, the camera feed will appear dark and pixelated, indicating that the tracker is locked.
2. Unlock the tracker by scanning the included key image (rocks.png). Once detected, the camera feed will return to normal and tracking will be enabled for the session.

3. This version only supports Built-In render pipeline.

Important
This WorldTracker plugin is currently not interoperable with our other trackers. Support for combining multiple AR trackers in the same experience is planned for future updates.
Combining multiple trackers is possible experimentally. This prototype demonstrates using Image Tracker together with World Tracker to create extended tracking experiences.

In-editor testing is currently not supported. To run the full experience, build your project for WebGL and access through your mobile device, or use our editor debugging tools for development and testing.
Why WebAR?
WebAR is best suited for lightweight, accessible, and shareable AR experiences.
Users can launch your experience instantly by opening a link or scanning a QR code. No app download required.
No Hosting Fees
Unlike many WebAR platforms that require monthly subscriptions, per-view fees, or per-app-id pricing, you can host your own experiences and avoid recurring platform costs.
White-label
Host your WebAR experiences like any other Unity WebGL build.
Upload to your own domain or website — the entire technology stack is yours.
World Tracker Key Features
5-Minute No Code WebAR Setup
Get started quickly with ready-to-use components and demo scenes. Add WebAR world tracking to your Unity project and place 3D models, videos, and interactive content into real-world environments with minimal setup.
6DOF & 3DOF Tracking Modes
Choose the right tracking mode for your experience. Use 6DOF tracking for precise surface anchoring and interactive AR experiences, or 3DOF tracking for lightweight rotation-based 360° AR content.
Surface & Floor Tracking
Anchor digital content to real-world surfaces including floors, tables, and environments. Create immersive spatial experiences where virtual objects stay positioned in the user’s surroundings.
Cross-Platform Browser Support
Deploy WebAR experiences across major mobile browsers including Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox. Supports in-app browsers such as WeChat, Facebook Messenger, and Viber, with WebView compatibility for embedding AR experiences inside mobile applications.
Demo Samples Included
Start building faster with ready-to-use demo projects and examples. Explore common AR interactions and quickly prototype your own WebAR experiences.
Future-Proof Unity Support
Built for modern Unity workflows with support for Unity 2022 LTS and Unity 6. Maintain long-term compatibility with future Unity releases.
Build Interactive Spatial Experiences
Create AR portals, virtual showrooms, interactive games, product visualizations, and location-based experiences directly from a browser link or QR code. Users can launch your experience instantly without downloading an app.

Disclaimers: Performance (FPS) is mainly determined by [1] user device’s processing capability and [2] scene/game complexity.
Tracking is comparable to SLAM (ARKit/ARCore) under optimal conditions, but this is still a lightweight version designed to run in low-end mobile browsers.
Experimental Features
Geolocation Tracking
Anchor AR content to real-world GPS locations for location-based experiences.
AR Portals and Doors
Quickly create immersive portal experiences using included demo samples.
Vertical & Wall Tracking
Experiment with placing AR content on vertical surfaces.
Summary
This plugin works similarly to AR Foundation’s 6DOF Tracking, but is designed specifically for Unity WebGL.
Setting up your AR scene only takes a few minutes (see the demo tutorial).
Supports major desktop and mobile browsers including Chrome, Safari, Edge, and Firefox.
It has also been tested inside built-in browsers from messaging apps such as WeChat, Facebook Messenger, and Viber.
